DescriptionLocationInstructors On April 2nd, 2020 Governor DeSantis issued Executive Order Number 20-94 suspending residential evictions for non-payment of rent until May 17, 2020. The Governor made it clear in his order that tenants are still obligated to make their rent payments and that landlords are still permitted to evict for other matters. This Order along with the Federal CARES Act which came into effect on March 27th naturally raises a number of questions for landlords throughout Florida. What types of situations can landlords evict for if they can’t file evictions for non-payment? How do these two pieces of legislation affect each other? Should landlords serve 3-day notices during this time frame? Can landlords charge late fees and other types of fees? How are county court and Sheriff moratoriums affecting the eviction process? When will this process all clear up? These questions along with a variety of others will be answered in our Coronavirus Eviction Webinar taking place Wednesday, May 6th at 10 AM.
