Real estate agents who have a comprehensive understanding of the closing process can better prepare their customers and help the settlement process go as smoothly as possible.
This course will provide real estate agents with valuable information to increase their knowledge of the closing process.
- Understanding the new loan estimate and closing disclosure forms
- How the closing agent prepares for closing in accordance with the contract provisions, title commitment requirements and lenders closing instructions
- Preparing the sellers and buyers for the day of closing, including: proper identification, funds to close, who must attend the closing and the lender required documents that must be brought to closing
- A review of the documents required to be signed by the sellers and buyers at the time of closing such as deeds, notes, mortgages and affidavits
- The Foreign Investment in Real Property Act (FIRPTA) and how it may apply to real estate transactions
- Why a buyer should obtain an Owner's Policy of Title Insurance and an overview of the coverage provided
- Common title and closing issues that may delay or prevent a transaction from closing
