Manuel Pila
Manuel Pila is a bilingual communications and economic development professional. A Miami native, Manuel graduated from the FIU Communications program and began his career writing for The Miami News, The Miami Herald and South Florida Business Journal. From 2002 to 2007, Manuel served as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce. From 2007 to 2014, he served as the Marketing & Communications Director and Program Manager for the Hollywood, FL Community Redevelopment Agency. In December 2014, Manuel joined the City of Doral as its Economic Developer. Under the direction of the City Manager, this executive management position plans, organizes, and implements an economic development program to promote the growth and development of the City’s economic base, assists in the retention and expansion of existing businesses, and vigorously seeks out new businesses for the City. Manuel is also the host of weekly world music radio show, ‘Global Gumbo,’ heard on 88.9FM WDNA on Sundays 4-6pm, and has been a professional drummer for over 25 years. He is the married to Michelle Naples of Beachfront Realty and is the father of 4-year old Ella and 6-year-old Danilo.
