The event will take place at the Alexander Miami Beach Hotel from 2:30 - 4:30 pm. There will be a complimentary networking cocktail reception immediately following the program from 4:30 - 6:00 pm.

South Florida Realtors wanting to get the latest financial updates and how they relate to real estate for their clients will be treated to an informative presentation by Stewart Title's Chief Economist, Dr. Ted Jones.

Dr. Jones will provide the latest information to track the trends in real estate to better inform their clients and be able to predict trends in prices and demand. Jones knows what and how to watch all the national financial trends and how they relate to real estate. Realtors who attend come away with a wealth of information to be better able to serve their clients.

Dr. Jones will address key issues as they affect the real estate industry and whether or not the current economy and real estate market represents the new normal.

Ted Jones

Ted C. Jones, PhD is the chief economist and senior vice president for Stewart Title Guaranty Company. Ted drives Stewart’s ongoing financial analyses and applied real-estate research, and his expertise is well
established among our stockholders, associates and customers. An accomplished speaker, he typically gives more than 150 presentations on real estate and the economy each year.

During his career, Ted has completed numerous mass-appraisal assignments, including more than $3 billion of income-producing property owned by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation,
retail properties, hotels, motels, offices, commercial land, multifamily housing, residences and numerous other special-use properties.

He completed a study on the Resolution Trust Corporation’s impact on real-estate values, and even testified before the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. Ted received a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural economics
from Colorado State University. He went on to earn a PhD in finance with a minor in statistics and a master’s degree in land economics and real estate from Texas A&M University. He subsequently served as chief
economist at A&M’s Real Estate Center, the nation’s largest publicly funded real-estate research group.

Prior to this role, Ted authored and taught the valuation and appraisal section of the Bachelor of Commerce in Valuation and Property Management at Lincoln College, The University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand.
An internationally recognized real-estate expert, Ted has completed appraisals and property analysis in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the United States. He is a past
member of the board of directors of the National, Texas and Houston Associations of REALTORS® and served as chairman of the board of the Houston association in 2004.
